Happy Birthday 20th Progressive Genetics

Posted in Category(ies):  Company News

Progressive Genetics Co-Op Society is 20 years old this month. The Society was established in April 1995, having purchased the business of the State owned Dublin District Milk Board.

The Co-Op is at the forefront of cattle breeding in Ireland being instrumental in the rationalisation of the industry in early 2000`s, and being a lead player in the establishment of both ICBF and NCBC which are the corner stone of the present day national breeding programmes for both Beef and Dairy. In fact the Irish programme was one of the first countries in the world to exploit the technology of genomics for the benefit of farmers. In 1998 the business of Irish Farm Computers was acquired which complemented the services being offered by the Society. IFC is the leader in the farm management software sector and the Agrinet Grass is a huge success both in Ireland and abroad.
